I really hate fish. But I'm trying to eat a little more now that I've cut out the meat. So to make salmon bearable, see my recipe below:
Ingredients:
2 Salmon Filets
1 Lemon
Chilli Flakes (or Fresh Chilli)
1 Garlic Clove
Salt
Pepper
Olive Oil
-Serves 2
My Method:
Preheat the grill to 200°C fan.
Line a baking tray with tinfoil and place in your salmon fillets.
Drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice, season with salt and pepper, sprinkle over some chilli flakes, chop the garlic very small and place on top. Add a lemon slice for decoration if you like.
Pop the salmon under the grill for 20 minutes and then serve.
In all honesty I ate about 3/4 of this and gave up (I told you I hate fish!) but my Dad liked it and he loves fish so...it's good I guess? No, honestly grilling salmon or even doing it on the barbecue makes to 1,000,000 (add infinite 0's) times better! It makes it crispy which is more palatable to me rather than wrapping it in tinfoil and baking it in the oven. All of the flavours in this recipe definitely compliment the fish and it was nice (the fish flavour becomes more powerful the more you eat and that's why I only like it at first). Pair it with a side salad and you're good to go!
Overall:
Easy to Make - Easy peasy lemon squeezy (you like what I did there?!)
Time Taken - About 5 minute to prepare, 20 in the oven. Very quick!
Taste - Ermm...... Nice at first, more fishy as time went by but I loved the flavours. Gave it to a fish lover who said it was delicious (thanks Dad!)
